Fondue How-To

We confess. We LOVE that fondue is back and just about as big as ever. So few foods bring together equal parts fun, wow factor, and yum! We don’t hate looking like rock star hosts thanks to something so easy, either.

Here are two of our absolute favorite fondue recipes: one for white wine lovers and one for red! Our white wine cheese fondue features our Pinot Grigio while the delectable broth fondue was just begging for Cabernet Sauvignon. We like pairing the two with an easy store-bought dessert for full party prep.

3-Pronged Guide to Fondue Fame

Dip your way to a great night in with our three-step guide to hosting a fab fondue party:

  1. Fondue Set. If you don’t already have a fondue set, they’re easy to find online – or check your neighborhood thrift store for a great deal on a legit set from the ’70s. But guess what? Rumor has it slow cookers with heat settings work like a dream, especially if you’ve got a large party planned. We’re not above using skewers from our barbeque set instead of tiny forks either.
  2. Dipping Supplies. We love hitting up our farmers’ market to grab in-season veggies, but the convenience of grabbing the goods while picking up the fondue ingredients can’t be beat. Be sure to pick up some soft, easy-to-tear bread. Sourdough is always a crowd favorite with its mix of soft and crunchy textures. Charcuterie meats are great as well. Did we mention arranging your dipping items is half the fun? And don’t forget a little dessert to sweeten the pot.
  3. Do the ’due. All that’s left is whipping up a modern fondue recipe or two. We’ve got you covered with updated takes on classic recipes below. Whether you and your guests love whites or reds, cheese or broth…this party has a little something for everyone.

Ready to rock your fondue feast? Find out where to pick up the wine you’ll need for these tasty recipes here. We’re pretty sure they’ll have the other ingredients, too.
